Ole William Nelson

August 1, 1909 – March 14, 1978

Ole Nelson, 69, a resident of Green Valley Convalescent center the past three years, died at the nursing home at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Parker funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Frank Mitchell, pastor of the Lucien United Methodist church. Burial will be in Grace Hill cemetery.

Born Aug. 1, 1909 at Eureka, Kan., Nelson came to Noble county in 1910. He attended Perry high school and before World war II moved to El Monte, Calif. He was a veteran of the second world war. He worked as an automobile mechanic and operated a service station in El Monte.

He moved back to Perry in 1974 and was admitted at the nursing home in 1975. He was a member of the Baptist church and the American Legion.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Amy Snyder, Lucien; Mrs. Ida Haefner, Perry; and Mrs. Ina Frame, El Monte, Calif.; and one brother, Ira Nelson, Lucien.

His parents and five brothers preceded him in death.
