Katie Inez Smith, 30, passed out of this life Monday, March 10, 1919, in San Francisco, California.
Katie was born in Kansas City, Missouri, March 15, 1888, to William T. and Mary Catherine (White) Smith. She came to Perry with her parents as a small child and grew to womanhood here, graduating from Perry High School in 1907.
Katie has not been strong for ten years, but had recovered her health and was quite normal and active at the time whe was taken sick with influenza, which developed into bronchial pneumonia.
Those who are left to mourn are the mother, Mrs. Mary C. Smith, the sisters, Ida May, Beatrice and Mrs. J. C. Gaiser of San Francisco, Anna, of Riverside, Mrs. J. H. Stout of Pasadena, Mrs. Belle Royce of Los Angeles, a brother, Ollie Smith of Watsonville, California, and Mrs. Grace Sellars of Hutchinson, Kansas, and J. Flem Smith of Guthrie, Oklahoma.
Services will be be conducted by Rev. H. H. Miller, formerly of Perry and Oklahoma City, but now of Oakland, California. She will be laid to rest in Mt. Olivet cemetery, San Francisco.
