Joyce was born Feb. 12, 1938, in Perry.  She has been in the band since 1952, and was on the student council last year.  Joyce was a member of the senior play cast this year, took part in her senior, junior, and sophomore class assemblies, and was business manager for a class band queen candidate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"two_third last_column\">\n<h1>Joyce Aleen Wakeman<\/h1>\n<h3>February 12, 1938 &#8211; November 30, 2017<\/h3>\n<p>Joyce Wakeman passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at age 79.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Perry on February 12, 1938, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Wakeman.  After graduating from Perry High School in 1956, she remained in Perry to raise her family. She later lived and worked in several cities around the country, including Phoenix, Las Vegas and San Diego, before returning to Perry in the early 90\u2019s to be near her family. Joyce will be remembered for her love of crafting, jewelry making, Elvis Presley and all things purple.<\/p>\n<p>Joyce leaves behind two daughters, Kim Ornellas and Pam Cordes; six grandchildren and one great-grandson; her sisters, Pat Kukuk and Debra Staab, her brother, Jim Wakeman, as well as six nieces and nephews.
