She retired last June.<\/p>\n<p>A native of Perry, Okla., she had lived in Salinas 32 years.  Mrs. Powell was a past president of the Business and Professional Women&#8217;s Club of Salinas.  She lived at 603 Kirkwood St.<\/p>\n<p>She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Diana Gardner of Hattisburg, Miss., Mrs. Shawna Going of Sacramento, and Mrs. Sharon Timmons of Salinas; and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Mae Kirtley of Austin, Tex., and Mrs. Hazel Perryman of Salinas; and 11 grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Private services were held this afternoon at the Struve and Laporte Funeral Chapel, followed by inurnment at the Garden of Memories.<\/p>\n<p>The family prefers that memorials go to the American Cancer Society.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"page-FullWidth.php","meta":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/13710"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=13710"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/13710\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":13714,"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/13710\/revisions\/13714"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=13710"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
