Nida, 90, long-time Perry resident, died at 7:50 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 1998, at Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Cortez Cranfill, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill cemetery under direction of Brown Funeral Home.<\/p>\n<p>Nida was the son of E. V. and Anna Nida and was born west of Orlando on July 31, 1907. He was a 1928 graduate of Perry High School where was president of his senior class. Nida also received an American Legion award as Best All Around Student. He attended Hills Business College.<\/p>\n<p>He and Eva Foster were married at Perry on May 13, 1930.<\/p>\n<p>Nida was a sales representative for Okeene Milling Company and General Mills for 40 years. He also had served as assistant manager of M&#038;P Grocery and manager of the Progressive Apartments.<\/p>\n<p>He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the First United Methodist Church.<\/p>\n<p>His wife, five brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include one son, Dr. Jerry Nida, Edmond; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild; one brother, John Nida, Perry; and four sisters, Katherine Klinglesmith, Laura Kennedy and Eda Mae McCoy, all of Perry, and Lucille Updike, Jenks.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"page-FullWidth.php","meta":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/14388"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=14388"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/14388\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":14391,"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/14388\/revisions\/14391"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=14388"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
