Before that, she divided her time between Hemet and Enid, Okla. <\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Newell was born on Valentine&#8217;s Day in 1914 in Spencer, Neb., to Frank and Esther Hamous. The family moved to Perry in 1922 and where she spent much of her youth. <\/p>\n<p>She traveled extensively in North America, Europe, and South Africa with her sister and brother-in-law, Harry and Ethel Palecek. They usually traveled in their tiny Airstream travel trailer. <\/p>\n<p>Her husband, Albert Newell, preceded Mrs. Newell in death. <\/p>\n<p>Her son, Jon Newell, of St. Louis, MO survives her.
