Walkling, 72, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2007, in his residence.  <\/p>\n<p>Born on May 25, 1935, in Seneca, Kansas, he was the son of Virgil and Dorothy (Roads) Walkling. <\/p>\n<p>He was employed by South Bend Regional Airport. Mr. Walkling served in the United States Army and Air Force during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. <\/p>\n<p>On April 9, 1977, he married the former Mary Stone, who survives.<\/p>\n<p>Also surviving are three daughters, Theresa and Melanie Walker, and Kim Walkling, all of Colorado; two sons, Brendon Walkling and Geoffrey Walkling, both of South Bend; nine grandchildren, two sisters and a brother. <\/p>\n<p>Gary was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.<\/p>\n<p>Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. today (Saturday) in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S.
