He was born in Perry 19 years ago and has lived here ever since.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"two_third last_column\">\n<h1>William LeRoy Folan<\/h1>\n<h3>April 15, 1920 &#8211; November 8, 1997<\/h3>\n<p>William LeRoy Folan, 77, longtime resident of Alamogordo, New Mexico, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997. <\/p>\n<p>Born on April 15, 1920, in Perry, Oklahoma, he was the son of Mark LeRoy and Helen (Manson) Folan.  He graduated from Perry high school in 1939.<\/p>\n<p>On May 8, 1954, he and Beatrice Genolynn &#8220;Betty&#8221; Berger were married in Stanford Co., Texas.  She preceded him in death in 1990.<\/p>\n<p>A World War II Army veteran and electronic engineer, he worked on the Manhattan Project and was present at Trinity Site.<\/p>\n<p>He was retired from civil service with Test Track at Holloman Air Force Base and a member of National Association of Atomic Veterans. <\/p>\n<p>Survivors include his son, Jim Folan; his daughters, Betty Gene Smith and Billee Lee Moore; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Memorial service will be at 7 p.m. today in Hamilton-O&#8217;Dell Chapel, in Alamogordo, NM.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"page-FullWidth.php","meta":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/17526"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=17526"}],"version-history":[{"count":7,"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/17526\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":17548,"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/17526\/revisions\/17548"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=17526"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
