Smith, 84, died in a Bakersfield, California hospital Friday morning, April 7, 1989. <\/p>\n<p>Born August 2, 1904, in Stillwater, Okla, she was the daughter of Fred A. and Ethel Mae (Houston) Davis.   She graduated from Perry high school in 1923.<\/p>\n<p>She met and married her husband, Harry Grant Smith, in 1946 and they enjoyed a rare and beautiful marriage.  During their 43 years together they accumulated a host of friends and traveled many miles in their recreational vehicles, camping and fishing.<\/p>\n<p>She had lived on the West Side for the last 44 years and was a member of the Taft, CA, Housewives League. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed to travel.
