    {"id":17723,"date":"2020-05-23T01:54:44","date_gmt":"2020-05-23T06:54:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/?page_id=17723"},"modified":"2020-06-26T17:02:33","modified_gmt":"2020-06-26T22:02:33","slug":"obituary-rice-bernice-helen-cockrum","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/?page_id=17723","title":{"rendered":"Obituary &#8211; Rice, Bernice Helen (Cockrum)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"one_third\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Class of 1931<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"two_third last_column\">\n<h1>Bernice Helen (Cockrum) Rice<\/h1>\n<h3>December 2, 1912 &#8211; October 7, 1973<\/h3>\n<p>\ufeffMrs. Bernice Rice, 60, Belmont, Calif., formerly of the Perry area and a relative of several Noble county residents, died at 3:50 p.m. Sunday in a convalescent hospital in Menlo Park, Calif.<\/p>\n<p>Graveside service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Cypress Lawn Memorial park cemetery, Belmont, under direction of Carl Mont funeral home of Belmont.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Rice was born December 2, 1912, northwest of Perry, to Charles F. and Mary (Tontz) Cockrum. She was a Perry high school graduate. Following graduation from high school, she moved to Dallas, Texas, where she was employed by a radio station for a number of years. <\/p>\n<p>She and Jack Bruton Rice were married February 12, 1937, in Williamson, Texas.  They made their home in California.  In 1968 Jack preceded her in death.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Brent Bell, Palo Alto, Calif.; her mother, Mrs. Mary Cockrum, Perry; six brothers, Lorren and Alvin Cockrum, Perry; Barren, Stroud; Milt, Georgetown, Texas; George, Del City; and Jim, Potwin, Kan.; four sisters, Mrs. Walter (Maxine) Pryor, Davis; Mrs. Oakley (Lenora) Price and Mrs. Leo (Marietta) Moran, both of Ponca City; and Mrs. Clarence (Gracie) McKee, Lucien; one grandson; and one aunt, Mrs. Grace DeVore, Perry.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"page-FullWidth.php","meta":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/17723"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=17723"}],"version-history":[{"count":4,"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/17723\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":17852,"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/17723\/revisions\/17852"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=17723"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
