A hitch in the Army is next for Timothy James Padilla, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Padilla, 312 Holly street. He is this year’s mayor of Teen town. Padilla has gone out for football and baseball since 1957, and other activities have included student council, Teen Town council, Christmas vespers, Boys state last summer, and a term as vice president of his junior class. A native of Perry, he was born May 31, 1943, and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic school before entering PHS. Padilla’s favorite subject is English and his hobby is hunting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\"\"Timothy James Padilla , 76, of Perry passed away on May 29, 2020. <\/p>\n

Born on May 31, 1943, he was the son of Timothy Tovar Padilla and Patricia Susan Terronez Padilla. Raised in Perry, Jim attended Perry High School graduating in 1961. He worked as a milk man for Borden\u2019s Dairy for many of his early years and later worked for Noble County District 3.<\/p>\n

He met and married the love of his life, Mary Lynn Smith and together they raised a daughter. The house was filled with love and laughter.<\/p>\n

As a lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed sitting on his back patio watching the birds, hunting and especially fishing. He would spend hours out on the water with a pole in his hand and a smile on his face. Jim\u2019s favorite pastime would be spending time with his grandchildren faithfully attending every practice, ballgame, and event he could. <\/p>\n

Jim served his country proudly in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Perry American Legion and Elks Lodge. He was often seen at the Senior Citizens Center where he brought joy to many. <\/p>\n

Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Mary Lynn, and brother Dick Padilla. <\/p>\n

He leaves behind to mourn his loss his daughter, Dana Padilla, of Perry; grandson, Dawson Padilla; granddaughter, Khnly Duncan; Sister Joan Narvaes; and brother, Marshall Padilla. <\/p>\n

A come and go reception, to honor his memory, will be held at Brown Dugger Funeral Home of Perry on Friday, June 5, 2020, from 3pm to 5pm.
