She was 90 years of age.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Bocox was born January 2, 1916, in Orlando, Oklahoma, the daughter of One and Eveylnn Bocox. During the past year she had been living at the Westminster Retirement Center.<\/p>\n<p>She had worked in the loan department of Albright Title and Trust Company. She was active in many organizations such as the Credit Women&#8217;s Breakfast Club, Kay County Legal Secretaries, President and District Director of the Ponca City Business and Professional Women&#8217;s Club, President of the Republicans Women&#8217;s Club of Kay County. She had also helped some thirteen years in the four year old Sunday school department of the First Baptist Church. <\/p>\n<p>After retiring in 1981, she belonged to the Northern Oklahoma Iris Society, the Ponca City Art Association, president two years for the local AARP and was a member of the First Baptist Church and Naomi Sunday School Class. <\/p>\n<p>Ruth loved to travel, play Canasta and garden. She visited Europe three times, the Caribbean Island, Hawaii and toured the Holy Land in 1981.<\/p>\n<p>She was preceded in death by her parents, Orie and Eveylnn Bocox; one sister, Cherrie; and two brothers Jack and George.<\/p>\n<p>She is survived by one brother, Don Bocox, Claremore, Oklahoma, and one sister, Fran Palm, Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister-in-laws, Mary Bocox, Medford, Oklahoma, and Ida Mae Bocox, Perry, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews. She was loved by her family and her many friends.<\/p>\n<p>Graveside services will beheld at 10:30 Saturday, May 13, 2006, at the Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry, Oklahoma, with memorial services to follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the First Baptist Church, Ponca City.
