As a child she moved with her family to Oklahoma, first to Pawnee and then to Perry. She graduated from Perry High School in 1933.<\/p>\n<p>In the late 1930s, Lorrayn moved with her parents and siblings to St. Louis, Missouri, where she worked as a clerk in a shoe factory. <\/p>\n<p>On November 13, 1942, she married Herbert Verseman in Tom Greene, Texas.
