During high school Steve worked as a paperboy and typesetter for the Perry Daily Journal. He attended the University of Oklahoma, joined Air Force ROTC and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. Later, he earned a master\u2019s degree in management from Troy University.<\/p>\n<p>Steve\u2019s career encompassed more than 47 years in public works, logistics, and construction. He spent 26 years in the Air Force with positions such as HQ U.S. Air Forces Europe (USAFE) Deputy Chief of Survivability Initiatives Division; HQ USAFE Chief, Ground Launch Cruise Missile Program Officer responsible for construction of the GLCM Base, Wueschheim, Germany; Civil Engineering Squadron Commander, Norton Air Force Base, CA; Civil Engineering Squadron Commander, Charleston Air Force Base, SC; and Civil Engineering Group Commander, Edwards Air Force Base, CA.<\/p>\n<p>After retiring from the Air Force as a colonel, Steve entered the corporate world, becoming vice president of operations of Del-Jen Inc., a subsidiary of Fluor Government Group. In 2013, he became operations manager for Chugach Government Solutions LLC, a Native Alaskan firm headquartered in Anchorage. In 2014 he became president of Wolf Creek Federal Services Inc. <\/p>\n<p>Steve is married to the former Debora Leeper; they have three children, Jennifer (deceased), Jeffrey, and Allison, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.<\/p>\n<p>Steve has held numerous positions in his church and is active in Wittenberg English Ministries, spending six weeks yearly providing church services in English in Wittenberg, Germany.  <\/p>\n<p>Col.
