He is the 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gottschalk, route 2, Perry.  Born Jan. 8, 1939, in Perry, he has been outstanding in football and baseball.  He also was president of his junior class, has been a member of the National Honor society the past two years, and has served as a member of the Teen Town council.  He plans to major in education in college.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"two_third last_column\">\n<h1>Donald Lee Gottschalk<\/h1>\n<h3>January 8, 1939 &#8211; May 9, 2024<\/h3>\n<p><img src=\"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lifetime_Member_small.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"float:left; margin-right: 5px;\"\/>Donald Lee Gottschalk passed away May 9, 2024, in Hoffman Estates, IL, after a long battle with Parkinson&#8217;s Disease. <\/p>\n<p>Born in Perry, Oklahoma, on January 8, 1939, he was the son of Walter August Gottschalk and Clara Anna (Heppler) Gottschalk. He was a graduate of Perry High School and Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma. <\/p>\n<p>He married Sue Ann Stine in 1960 in Kansas City. They had three children, Jon Kevin Gottschalk and Heidi, Ronald Scott Gottschalk, and Gail Lyn Gottschalk Cook. <\/p>\n<p>After college he worked for Continental Oil Company in Ponca City, OK, for six years before moving to the Kansas City area to work as a CFO for various manufacturers. In 2001 he retired and he and Sue moved to Florida. After six years they moved back to the Midwest to care for his parents on the farm.
