R. McDaniel of 524 Grove street.  Ross has taken part in football since 1943, and played high school baseball in 1944-45.<\/p>\n<p>He was born June 1, 1930, in Bowlegs, Okla., and attended grade school in Marshall.  Before coming to PHS, he was a student at Russell, Kan., high and Texhoma, Okla., high.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to athletics, Ross has served on the Perryscope staff.  He expects to work in the oil fields after graduating.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"two_third last_column\">\n<h1>Charles &#8220;Ross&#8221; McDaniel<\/h1>\n<h3>June 1, 1930 &#8211; July 14, 1980<\/h3>\n<p>Charles Ross McDaniel, 50, 6291 E. Eighth, Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Perry, was fatally injured when run over by a pickup truck Monday evening at Kansas City.<\/p>\n<p>McDaniel had been employed by a Kansas City manufacturing firm.  He was born June 1, 1930, and graduated from Perry high school in 1948.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include his wife, Betty (Starling) McDaniel, of the home; a son, Jay McDaniel, Kansas City; three daughters, Miss Tina McDaniel and Miss Kim McDaniel of Kansas City, and Mrs. Candy Tanner, Independence; his mother, Mrs. Bettie McDaniel, Perry; two brothers, Bob McDaniel and Kenneth McDaniel, both of Perry; and two sisters, Mrs. Betty Robbins, Perry; and Mrs. Linda Manley, Billings.<\/p>\n<p>Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Sheil Independence Avenue Chapel at Kansas City.
