Mary grew up in Perry OK where she attended Perry Schools and was a member of the Maroon Marching Band. <\/p>\n<p>On February 19, 1949, she and fellow PHS band member, Bill Riddle, were married at the First Methodist Church in Cushing.  While Bill continued his education at Oklahoma A &#038; M Technical College they lived in Okmulgee. In 1952 they relocated to Tulsa, where both worked at McDonnell Douglas Corporation. Their first son died at birth in 1955.
