{"id":5177,"date":"2016-09-29T12:53:15","date_gmt":"2016-09-29T17:53:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/?page_id=5177"},"modified":"2025-03-30T12:44:14","modified_gmt":"2025-03-30T17:44:14","slug":"obituary-nicewander-paul","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/perryokalumni.com\/?page_id=5177","title":{"rendered":"Obituary &#8211; Nicewander, Paul"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"one_third\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Class of 1942<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"two_third last_column\">\n<h1>Paul Nicewander<\/h1>\n<h3>September 3, 1921 &#8211; July 06, 2011<\/h3>\n<p>Paul Nicewander, 89, formerly of Perry, Oklahoma, was the son of Arthur and Emma (Kemnitz) Nicewander.<\/p>\n<p>He was born on September 3, 1921 in Lucien, Oklahoma and died Wednesday, July 06, 2011 in Jenks, Oklahoma.<\/p>\n<p>He worked for the Atchison-Topeka Santa Fe Railroad for 38 years. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and two American Legions in Tulsa, Oklahoma.<\/p>\n<p>He was an avid ballroom and square dancer. He belonged to Wheel and Whirl and Single Squares. Paul enjoyed hunting and playing bridge and dominoes. He was known for having a great sense of humor.<\/p>\n<p>Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 at the Grace Hill Cemetery Pavilion.  Andrew Nicewander will officiate. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.<\/p>\n<p>Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th, Perry, Oklahoma 73077.<\/p>\n<p>Paul is survived by two sons, Don Nicewander and his wife. Barbara, of Inola, Oklahoma and John Nicewander and his wife, Anita, of Lillian, Texas; one daughter, Janel Ferguson and her husband. Garry, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Jami and Dan Beshear, Jaason Nicewander, Jaakob and Angie Nicewander, Jaaremy and Amy Nicewander, Dustin Nicewander. Andrew and Grace Nicewander, Rebekah Nicewander, Timothy Nicewander, Garry K.
