She has also served as worthy advisor in Rainbow and was attendant to the annual queen and the basketball queen.  All this earned for her the title of &#8220;all &#8217;round senior girl and senior girl with personality plus.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She also managed to work in time for her parts in the yearbook play in 1948 and 1949, the 1948 junior class play, and this year&#8217;s senior play.  What&#8217;s more, she has been active in Y-Teens, Zeta Chi, Order of Rainbow, and was listed in &#8220;Who&#8217;s Who in American High Schools.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Lavina still finds an occasional lull in which to pursue two hobbies, sewing and music.  Her favorite school subjects are home economics and problems of American democracy.<\/p>\n<p>She lives with her parents at 1324 Delaware street, and expects to enter Hill&#8217;s business college.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"two_third last_column\">\n<h1>Lavina Jane (Swart) Hussey<\/h1>\n<h3>March 2, 1931 &#8211; November 23, 2004<\/h3>\n<p>Lavina Jane Hussey died Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at her home in Stillwater. <\/p>\n<p>She was born on March 2, 1931, in Perry to Chester Swart and Lola V. Crockett. She married Henry &#8220;Ferg&#8221; Hussey on Aug. 28, 1954. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>She graduated from Perry High School in 1949 and attended Hill&#8217;s Business University. She started college on a part-time basis at age 35 and graduated 15 years later from Central State University with a degree in accounting.<\/p>\n<p>She became a Certified Public Accountant and after that, was certified as a Financial Planner. She worked as a staff accountant for several accounting firms; was a business manager at a real estate firm; and ended her career in the trust tax department of a large bank in Oklahoma City.<\/p>\n<p>She and her family lived in Oklahoma City for 40 years.  After her retirement in 1994 they moved to Stillwater.<\/p>\n<p>She was a member of the First Christian Church, Oklahoma Society of CPAs, Stillwater Country Club&#8217;s Women&#8217;s Golf Association, and a volunteer at Judith Karman Hospice.<\/p>\n<p>Lavina&#8217;s spent her free time golfing, reading, traveling, sewing, and being with family and friends.<\/p>\n<p>Preceding her in death are her parents; three brothers; and one sister.<\/p>\n<p>She is survived by her husband, of the home; one daughter, one son, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews; and many more dear friends. <\/p>\n<p>Services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the First Christian Church in Stillwater. The Rev. M. Rick Hendricks officiating.
