Stanley Maitland Pratt

October 24, 1923 – February 11, 1964

Stanley M. Pratt, 40, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd W. Pratt of Perry, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pratt, Kan., following an apparent heart attack.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the First Presbyterian church of Perry, with Rev. Ernest Ackerman, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill cemetery under direction of Newton funeral home.

Pratt, a resident of Great Bend, Kan., was born Oct. 24, 1923, in Tulsa, and came to Perry with his parents in 1930. He graduated from Perry high school in 1942, and served in the Army during World war II until 1946. He later attended Oklahoma State university and Oklahoma university before entering seismograph work, which he followed until his death.

He become ill Tuesday morning while working in the field near Pratt, and was dead on arrival at the Pratt County hospital.

He was married in September, 1951 in Larned, Kan., to the former Alice Good, who survives. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Larned.

In addition to his wife of the home, survivors are a son, Wayne, and daughter, Terry, also of the home; two brothers, Bill, Borger, Texas; and Floyd S., Los Angeles; and five sisters, Mrs. Peggy Wheeler, Paoli, Pa.; Miss Catherine Pratt, Whittier, Calif; Mrs. Pat Pyle, Denver, Col.; Mrs. Judy Phillippe, Liberal, Kan.; and Mrs. Joan Harris, Yale, Okla.
