Carol Ermina (Kennedy) Plessinger

March 7, 1916 – October 6, 1971

Mrs. Leland (Carol) Plessinger, 55, Buchanan Dam, Texas, formerly of Perry, died Wednesday in a Houston hospital following a brief illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Parker chapel with Rev. Tom Kirby, pastor of the First United Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Plessinger was born March 7, 1916, in Perry, the daughter of Ivan L. and Hazel (Eby) Kennedy. She attended Perry schools and was graduated from Oklahoma State university.

She had been a teacher in Shamrock and Okmulgee, Okla. In 1947, she moved to Hollywood, Calif., where she served as a teacher.

In 1950, she was married in Hollywood to Leland Plessinger, who survives. They later moved to Waynesville, Mo., where they resided the past 15 years. Recently they moved to Buchanan Dam, where they operated a motel.

She was a member of the Methodist church in Waynesville, where she served as organist.

Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters, Mrs. John Jacobson, San Pedro, Calif., and Mrs. Paul Jones, Houston, Texas; two sons, Don McCoy, Overland Park, Kan., and Richard Plessinger, Long Beach, Calif.; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Kennedy, Perry; one brother, Bob Kennedy, Shawnee, Okla.; five sisters, Mrs. Warenne Harris, Canoga Park, Calif.; Mrs. Sam Jerome, Gila Bend, Ariz.; Mrs. Ed Talbot, Burnet, Texas; Mrs. Lowell Anderson, Prague, Okla.; and Mrs. Mike Golliver, Enid, Okla.; three granddaughters and three grandsons.
