Joe McQuain was born Nov. 15, 1935, in Perry, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martie McQuain, 129 Cedar street. Joe has attended all his schooling in Perry. He plans to enter the University of Oklahoma next fall. While in Perry high he has been a member of the F.F.A., Teen Town, student council, and the Perry delegation to Boys State. He has been president of F.F.A., senior class, sophomore class, and co-captain of the wrestling team. Besides wrestling, he also participated in football and baseball.
Joseph Mayhew McQuain
November 15, 1935 – June 21, 2022
Joseph Mayhew McQuain, age 86, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, passed away June 21, 2022, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Born on November 15, 1935, in Perry, Oklahoma, he was the son of Martie and Georgia McQuain. He grew up in Perry, and graduated from Perry High School where he won the state title for wrestling. Joe worked in the oilfield until his retirement.
Joe is preceded in death by his spouse, Peggy West McQuain; his son, Troy Jay McQuain; his parents, Martie and Georgia McQuain; and sister, Donna Jean (Dee) Richardson.
Survivors include his son, Kevin McQuain and his wife, Debra; grandchildren, Justin and wife Kalyn, Jerrod and spouse Erin McQuain, Lauren Shaw and spouse Matthew; great-grandchildren, Presley, Hadyn, Aubrey, Peyton, and Adelyn McQuain and Fordham and Palmer Shaw; brother, Marty McQuain; several nieces and nephews; many great friends; and his beloved dogs, Lucy and Roger.
A graveside service will be held at Grace Hill Cemetery on Friday, August 19, 2022, at noon with Brian Friend officiating. Joseph will be laid to rest at Grace Hill Cemetery following the service.
