Ruby Phillis (Walter) Johnson

Ruby Phillis Johnson, 28, died at 4:15 Monday afternoon at Clinton, Oklahoma, where she lived for the past two years.
Born in Morrison, January 10, 1912, she was the daughter of Philip Anthony and Emilie Just Walter. When she was six years old. the family moved to Perry. She attended and graduated from Perry high school in 1930. She was popular among the student body of the school and took an active part in all school activities.
After graduating, she was employed at Art Cleaners, and married Fred Williams in March, 1932. He died in 1934 as the result of injuries received in a car accident. In March, 1936, Ruby and W. H. Johnson were married.
She was a member of the Christ Lutheran church in Perry.
Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Walter; six brothers, Lawrence Walter of Henderson, Arkansas, Alvin of Watonga, I. N. Walter of Greyford. Texas. Lynn of Perry, Paul of San Diego. California. and Hartwell of Perry and one sister. Mrs. A. E. Rutter of Blackwell.
Funeral services have been set for Wednesday afternoon. At two o’clock short services will be held in the chapel of the Davis Funeral Home, followed by services in the Lutheran church at 2:30. Rev. Edward Hauer will conduct both services. Burial will be in the Grace Hill cemetery.
