Dorothy Helen (Kelley) Wright

Dorothy H. Wright, 91, of Pinebrook Circle in Bradenton, Florida, died Sunday, June 28, 2009 at the Blake Medical Center in Bradenton.
Born November 3, 1917, in Phoenix, AZ, she was the daughter of Orval and Olinda Lessman Kelley. Following her graduation from Perry high she attended Hill’s Business College in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and secured at job at the Richards-Conover Hardware store in Oklahoma City.
In 1941 Dorothy accepted a civil service secretarial position in Washington, DC., followed a year later by the same work in New York City, New York, with the office of the Veteran’s Administration.
She and Sgt. James E. Wright were married in Geneseo, New York, on June 10, 1944. He worked in the U. S. Army transport service and they made their home in Jackson Heights, Long Island, New York. Later they owned and operated Wright’s Florist and AM Rite Reality Corporation in Geneseo. They retired to Bradenton, Florida in 1972.
Preceding her in death were: her husband (1987); her parents; and brother, Leroy Kelley.
Survivors include: a son, David (Angie) Wright of Eagan, MN; grandchildren, Holli, Kyle, and Heidi Wright of Eagan, MN; brothers, Howard Kelley of TX, Calvin Kelley of OK; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be at 2 PM with Rev. Beth Godfrey of Central Presbyterian Church in Geneseo officiating. Burial will be in Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo.
