James O. Parker

May 23, 1917 – July 13, 1958

James O. Parker, 41, of 807 N. Emporia, Wichita, Kansas, died Sunday in St. Francis Hospital.

He had been a resident a month, having moved here from Hutchinson, Kansas. He had been ill most of his life. He died of cancer.

Born in Oklahoma on May 23, 1917, he was the son of C. E. and Edna Parker. He graduated from Perry high school in 1935.

He was a musician and a music teacher. He studied music at Juilliard School of Music, New York City, and American Conservatory, Chicago, Ill.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel; two brothers, R. C., Enid, Oklahoma, and Clay, 1021 S. Topeka, Kansas; and four sisters, Mrs. Erma Adams, Palmdale, California, Mrs. Christine Bass, Corpus Christi, Texas, Mrs. Jessie Burns, Hutchinson, Kansas, and Mrs. Dorothy McCoy, McPherson, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. James Episcopal Church, Wichita, Kansas. The Rev. James Flye, assistant pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery, Wichita, Kansas.
