Frances Nanette Wiehe was born March 25, 1956 in Perry. She is the daughter of Henry Wiehe, 304 Ivanhoe street. She was in the Spanish club 1970-72; Library aide 1970-71 and 1972-73; Mu Alpha Theta 1973-74; Honor Society 1973-74; winner of President’s physical fitness award 1969-70; the Secretary of State award 1970-71; Who’s Who Among American High School Students 1972-73; and Rotary club student guest in April. English is her favorite subject and her hobby is working with wood. She plans to be employed after graduation.

Frances Melvin passed away on May 19, 2026, at the age of 70.

Born on March 26, 1956, she was raised in Perry, Oklahoma where she graduated high school in 1974.

She was very skilled and meant many things to many people. One can only describe her as a legend. As a jack of all trades she worked many jobs from cashier to construction, building lifelong friendships along the way. She had a passion for nature and a green thumb for life.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald (Dan) Melvin and children, Michelle, Victoria, Danielle, Tim, Tracee, Ronald II, Gary, 16 grand children, and 6 great grand children.

A funeral service celebrating Frances’ life will be held on May 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery.
