Michael Edward Smith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Foy E. Smith, 714 Kaw street. He was born August 20, 1952 in Wichita. He was in football 1970-71; basketball 1968-69; track 1968-71; weight lifting 1970-71; Spanish club 1969; Thespians 1969-71; on junior prom committee; in the junior play; on the Annual staff 1970-71; newspaper staff; and spirit committee 1970-71; vocal music 1968-71, and was in the honor chorus at the Tri-State music festival. Psychology is his favorite subject. He plans to work and attend the Colorado Drafting school.

Michael Edward Smith, age 73, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a long battle with underlying health issues.
Michael lived life with determination and passion. In his early years, he earned his black belt in Karate, reflecting his dedication and perseverance. He also had a deep love for golf and found great joy in the game and the friendships it brought throughout his life.
He will be remembered for his steady presence, his strength, and the deep love he had for his family.
Preceding him in death were Foy Eddie Smith, Mary Elizabeth Fleming, and granddaughter Hannah Don McAnally.
Survivors include his children: Steffanie Denise Stephens married to Dustin Stephens, Michael Gregory Smith married to Stephanie Smith, Michael Traver Smith married to Amber Smith, Linzi Michelle Thomas married to Jason Thomas; grandchildren: Beau Dewayne Veit, Johnathan Alexander Smith, Michael Addison Smith, Avery Miller Smith, Sevyn Marie Smith, Scarlett May Smith, Eleanor Frank Smith, Piper Deloris Thomas, Sadie Faith Thomas; siblings: James Raymond Smith married to Donna Smith and Patty Jean Dietrich married to Charles Dietrich.
