Elizabeth Irene “Betty” (Munger) Beasley

April 12, 1916 – January 13, 2003

Elizabeth Irene “Betty” Beasley, 86, of Monroe, Louisiana, was the daughter of Thomas and Bess Munger and was born April 12, 1916. She died Monday, January 13, 2003 at North Monroe Medical Center.

Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Ouachita Republican Women and Stauss Little Theatre.

Survivors are two daughters, Judith Beasley Hollis and Nancy Beasley Carpenter and her husband, Allen, all of Monroe, Louisiana; five grandsons, Trey Hollis, Scott Carpenter, Michael Hollis, Paul Hollis and Matthew Carpenter; two granddaughters, Amanda Carpenter and Sarah Carpenter; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Abby; one brother, Robert Munger, Lake Charles, Louisiana; one niece and five nephews.

Her husband, Arthur P. Beasley; parents, Thomas and Bess Munger, and brothers, Billy, Charles and Tommy, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2003 at the First Presbyterian Church in Monroe. Rev. Paul Nazarian will officiate.

A second service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2003 in the chapel of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home at Perry, Oklahoma. Rev. Tim Boggess and Rev. Judy (Sissy) Chapshaw will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Monroe, Louisiana. Pallbearers will be Trey Hollis, Scott Carpenter, Michael Hollis, Paul Hollis, Tom Munger and Matthew Carpenter. Honorary pallbearers will be Bernard Waite, Brad Armintor and David Waller.
