Fairel Bryce

– An honor student of this year’s Perry high school graduating class is Nathan Fairel Bryce, son of Mr. and Mrs. N. E. Bryce of route one, Orlando. Bryce, 18 years old, is a member of the national honor society and formerly had belonged to the national junior honor society.

Fairel came to the Perry schools two and one-half years ago, after having attended at Bethel for some time previously. A native of Shawnee, Bryce has also been a student at Jefferson and Harrison schools.

He is a member of the Future Farmers of America chapter here and, like all youths his age, plans to enter military service within a short while.

Nathan Fairel Bryce, 77, retired Gueda Springs Postal Service postmaster, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001. Service 9:30 a.m. Friday, Highland Cemetery.

Bryce graduated from Perry high school with the class of 1943. He served during World War II in the U.S. Navy as an aviation machinist’s mate petty officer 2nd class.

Survivors include his wife, Laveda; sons, Kevin, Kurtis both of Winfield; grandchild, Krsytal Bryce of the home; sister, Marilyn Hall of Wichita. Memorial established with Boy’s Town of Omaha, Neb.
