Marjorie Spillman Lumbers

– president of Red Hots Pep Club this year and drill leader for that organization last year is the daughter of John Spillman, 1314 Ivanhoe.

She has been a member of the glee club for three years.

Born April 12, 1928, Marjorie Nadean is a native Perryan. She wants to attend a beautician’s school or business college at Oklahoma City after graduation.

Marjorie N. Lumbers, 67, Perry, died at 10:16 p.m.. Thursday, March 14, 1996, at Perry Memorial hospital.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Christian church. Rev. Lynn Scott, pastor of the Perry church, and Rev. Barry Prock, of the Garber Christian church, will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Marjorie Lumbers Memorial Fund in care of Exchange Bank and Trust Company.

Mrs. Lumbers, the daughter of John and Martha (Sawatsky) Spillman, was born at Perry, April 12, 1928. She and Robert E. Lumbers were married at Perry on May 7, 1945.

She had been a Selective Service employee and later worked 13 years in the dental office of Dr. W. W. Busby before retiring in 1977. Mrs. Lumbers was a member of the First Christian church.

In addition to her husband, of the home, survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Patty Lumbers, Perry; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Allan Skouby, Allen, TX, and Bridget and Steve Stovall, Douglas, OK; seven grandchildren, Jay and Treg Yowell, Matt, Luke and Haley Lumbers, and Crystal and Stephne Stovall; her mother,. Martha Spillman, Perry; and one brother, J. D. Spillman, Perry.

Mrs. Lumbers was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Delores Bezdicek.
