Russell Carlyle “Bus” Dotts

January 17,1912 – March 30, 1984

R. C. (Bus) Dotts, 72, 31 Highland addition, died unexpectedly early Friday at his home. No funeral service will be scheduled. Friends may call at the Dotts home at 31 Highland. Memorials may be given to aid heart research. Parker Funeral home will serve as custodian of memorial funds.

Dotts was born at Medford, Jan. 17, 1912. He attended Blackwell schools and was a 1930 graduate of Perry high school. He attended Oklahoma State university and was a World War II veteran, having served with the United States Army.

He and Dorritt Renter were married April 29, 1940, at Reno, Nev. The couple lived in California until 1947, when they moved to Perry. They moved to Arkansas in 1951.

Mr. and Mrs. Dotts returned to Perry in 1955 when Dotts became owner-manager of Dotts Hardware. Dotts retired in 1974. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, the American Legion and the Perry Golf and Country club.

In addition to Mrs. Dotts, of the home, survivors include one daughter, Mrs. David (Kay Lee) McAnally, Perry; one granddaughter, Renee Dayton, Perry; and one sister, Mrs. Bonnie Goolsby, Ontario, Calif.
