Charles Luther Dotts

– is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Dotts of 221 Cedar street. He was born October 10, 1927, in Perry, and is a member of Alpha Eta and Teen Town.

Class honors include presidency of senior class this year, of the junior class in 1943-44, present president of the student council after holding that same office last year, editor of the Perryscope, former president of the sophomore class, and a member of the National Honor Society in 1943-44.

Charles played both basketball and football, lettering in the latter in 1943-44. He wants to enter the coast guard after graduation, then take a college course in engineering.

Charles L. Dotts, 46, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Perry, died in Memorial City hospital in Houston at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, December 9th. Dotts suffered a seizure at his home Thursday and fell down a flight of stairs.

Born Oct. 10, 1927, in Perry, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther S. Dotts. He graduated from Perry High School in 1945 and attended Oklahoma State University.

In 1951 he was employed by Oil Well Supply company. He worked in Canada, Ohio, and Tulsa from 1951 to 1971 and was credit manager for C.R.C. Crose Co. in Houston at the time of his death.

He was a veteran of World War II during which time he served two years in the Navy. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.

Dotts and Phyllis Sue Pickens were married in 1957 in Miami, Okla.

Graveside rites will be in Grace Hill cemetery Tuesday at 10 a.m. Rev. Don Harnden, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will officiate.
