LaVerne Hansen

– son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hansen. He was born in Sumner, attended the Sumner school before coming to Perry. He is a member of the F.F.A. club in the high school and plans to either be a farmer or run a dairy.

LaVerne L. “Bosco” Hansen

January 20, 1921 – November 9, 1994

LaVerne L. “Bosco” Hansen, 73, 515 North Twelfth street, died at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 1994, at Perry Memorial hospital.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Brown Funeral home. Rev. Lynn Scott, pastor of the First Christian church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Sumner cemetery.

Hansen was born Jan. 20, 1921, in Noble county, the son of Lawrence and Dovie Hansen. He attended Sumner school and was a graduate of Perry high school. He and Thelma Bowers were married in May, 1941, at Perry.

He served with the United States Army from 1943-1946. Hansen farmed and was involved in business and served as Noble county assessor from 1965-77.

A member of the Christian church, Hansen was a past member of the Perry Lions club, the American Legion, Perry Elks lodge and Perry Golf and Country club.

In addition to his wife, of the home, survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and JoElla Hansen, Broken Arrow, and Jerry and Linda Hansen, San Diego, CA; and five grandchildren, Nicole, of Tulsa; Chris, of Stillwater; and Daniel, Darin and Amanda, all of San Diego.

Hansen was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
