Leona Ester (Hageman) Hess

October 21, 1915 – September 4, 1999

Leona E. Hess, 83, Blackfoot, Idaho, passed away Saturday, September 4, 1999 at Bingham Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, 1999 at Hill Hawker and Sandberg Funeral Home. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 1999 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, northwest of Perry, under the direction of Brown-Sisson funeral Home in Perry. Rev. Lynn Scott officiated.

Hess was born October 21, 1915 in Red Rock, to Lawrence E. and Minnie (Schroeder) Hageman. She was married October 20, 1939 to Glenn C. Hess in Perry. She graduated from Perry High School in 1934. Hess lived in Perry until 1959.

She worked for Basic American Foods from 1960-1970. Hess was a member of the First Christian Church in Perry. She loved to sew, garden and travel.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn C. Hess of Blackfoot, ID; three sons and daughters-in-law,
Harvey and Sonja Hess, San Diego, CA, Robert E. and Colleen Hess, Shelley, ID; Vernon L. and Carren Hess, Blackfoot, ID; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; and many step great grandchildren.
