Thelmalene Boone

– daughter of Mr. R. F. Boone, was born August 23, 1917, in Springdale, Arkansas. She has attended school in Oklahoma City and Perry.

While a student in Perry she has been a member of the Girl Reserves and the Glee Club. She received honor for one year’s perfect attendance.

Following graduation she is not sure what she will do. She is especially interested in the business world.

Thelmalene Eulalia (Boone) Dowell

August 23, 1917 – December 25, 1980

Mrs. John (Thelmalene) Dowell, 63, 510 Thirteenth street. died at 3:05 a.m. Thursday at Perry Memorial hospital after an illness of four years. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Parker Funeral chapel with Rev. Robert S. Bazzell, pastor of the Ceres Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be at Grace Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Dowell was born Aug. 23, 1917, at Springdale, Ark., the daughter of Robert and Pearl (Dodd) Boone. She came to the Perry area in 1920 and attended Perry schools. She was married June 15, 1941, to Eugene Lowry, who preceded her in death in 1966. She and John Dowell were married Aug. 5, 1972. Mrs. Dowell was a member of the Baptist church.

In addition to her husband, John, of the home address, survivors include three sons, Jerry Lowry, Robert Lowry and Donald Lowry, all of Perry; two daughters, Jean Sue Houska and Linda Dowell, both of Perry; three sisters, Helen Yarger, Perry, Imogene Boone, St. Louis, Mo., and Velta Breneman, Los Molinos, Calif.; one brother, Robert Boone, Redlands. Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
