Lawrence Mitchell

– son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar R. Mitchell, was born on April 28, 1918. He attended Pleasant Valley and Pleasant View. His high school education was received from Perry high school.

Lawrence is especially interested in farming and aviation.

Lawrence Franklin Mitchell

April 28, 1918 – July 20, 2002

Lawrence F. Mitchell, 84, of Chapel Street, Burrillville, Rhode Island, died Saturday, July 20, 2002, in Overlook Nursing Home, Pascoag, RI.

He was the husband of Jean (Goldsmith) Mitchell. Born in Lucein, Okla., a son of the late Oscar and Amy (Donoho) Mitchell, he had lived in the Chepachet section of Glocester for many years before moving to the Harrisville section of Burrillville two years ago.

Mr. Mitchell was an inspector at the former Quonset Point Naval Air Station in North Kingstown for 25 years, retiring in 1973.

He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, serving in North Africa and Italy, and later was a member of the Air National Guard for 35 years.

Mr. Mitchell was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church.

He leaves two sons, Stephen Mitchell of Pawnee, Okla., and David Mitchell of Mesa, Ariz.; three daughters, Linda Mitchell of Tacoma, Wash., Christine Manzo of Lincoln and Janet Rich of Chepachet; a brother, Kenneth Mitchell of Perry, Okla.; and nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Highway, Oakland, with a service at 10 in Calvary Episcopal Church, Broad Street, Pascoag.
