Cleo Merriman

– son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Merriman was born May 24, 1914, in Leon, Iowa. He has attended school in Midco, Oklahoma, Polo district 53 and Perry High School.

And while a student in Perry he has entered into wrestling and has been a member of the National Honor Society and the State Honor society.

Following graduation he expects to enter college. He is especially interested in chemistry.

Cleo Ross Merriman

May 24, 1914 – February 28, 2008

Cleo Ross Merriman, 93, Sand springs, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, February 28, 2008.

Cleo was born in Leon, Iowa, on May 24, 1914, to Ross Merriman and Gertrude (Murry) Merriman. He was married to Lacy Wiseman in Perry, Oklahoma, September 14, 1941.

Cleo was a Rockhound. He collected and polished rocks. He would take these rocks to Rock Shows. Cleo enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tinkering. He could fix about anything.

Cleo loved being with his family and especially his wife as they traveled across the United States in their Mini-Motorhome.

He was a charter member of the Mission Christian Church of Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

Cleo will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Ross and Gertrude Merriman, and brother Wesley Merriman.

Funeral services for Cleo will be Monday, March 3, 2008, at 10:00 A.M. in the Mission Christian Church in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Pastor Scott Ferguson will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodland Memorial Park in Sand Springs.
