Class of 1931

Lula “Christine” (Jensen) Fordyce

August 22, 1914 – May 28, 2005

Christine J. Fordyce, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 28, 2005. A resident of Houston, TX, for the past six years, she retired with her late husband, Ralph Fordyce, to Canyon Lake, Texas, in 1972. She previously lived in Topeka and Wichita, Kansas.

Mrs. Fordyce was born at Perry, Oklahoma, on August 22, 1914 to Chris D. and Lula Jensen. She was a 1931 graduate of Perry high school.

Christine was especially beloved and will be missed by all her immediate family: a son, Charles Fordyce, Houston; grandchildren, Kelly Fordyce, Houston, and Charles Fordyce Jr., Seattle, Wash.; and grandsons Charles and Hugh Fordyce.

She will always be remembered as a true and lasting friend to all who knew her. She was a tireless volunteer, involved in many civic activities while a resident of Canyon Lake. Her quick wit, good nature and finesse at the bridge table (her favorite sport) characterized her life as full of joy, love, and Christian charity.

A memorial service will be held for Christine at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Canyon Lake Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org. Christine J. Fordyce
