Elvin “Harley” Dowd

March 7, 1927 – March 3, 1944

Funeral services for Harley Dowd, 16 year old Perry youth, one of the five victims of the train-automobile crash at Orlando Friday afternoon, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Christian Church, Perry. Services will be conducted by Rev. J. Allen Wheeler. Burial will be in Grace Hill cemetery.

Elvin Harley Dowd was born March 7, 1929, at Braman, Okla., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lundy Dowd. The family has made their home at 1318 Elm street, since last summer. Previously they had lived at and near Orlando.

Dowd was a junior in the Perry high school. He was a member of the high school band. Previous to attending the Perry schools he had been a student at Orlando.

In addition to his parents, Dowd is survived by a sister, Dorothy Mae Dowd.
