Gertrude Johnston-Jensen

– daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry s. Johnston. She was born in Texas and has attended schools in Oklahoma City and Perry. She is yell leader for the Red Hot organization, a member of the Order of Rainbow for Girls, Junior Home Culture club, Church choir, and was in the senior play this year. She won a beauty contest while she was in the 10th grade. She was married this year to Bill Jensen. She plans to attend Central State Teachers college in Edmond next year.

Gertrude Ethel “Trudy” (Johnston) Walton

February 7, 1920 – March 12, 2002

Gertrude (Trudy) Walton, 82, of Stephenville died Tuesday, March 12, at Community Nursing Home in Stephenville, Texas.

No services will be conducted. Her body was cremated.

Mrs. Walton, born Feb. 7, 1920, was the adopted daughter of Henry S. and Ethel (Littleton) Johnston. She graduated from Perry High school in 1938. She was an accountant, having lived in Stephenville for the past 17 years.

On Feb. 1, 1954, she was married to Montsy Walton in Wichita Falls. He preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 2001.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Luna and husband Willie of Stephenville; seven grandchldren, Ann and Ernes Johnston of Springtown, Billy and Anna Luna of San Marcos, Jeff Hutichinson of Waco, Richard Luna of Gorman and Kate Luna of Washington state; five great-grandchildren, Carolynn and Drew Johnston of Springtown, Corri and Mia Luna of San Marcos and Gannon Hutchinson of Waco; and a brother, Robin Johnston and wife Maureen of Oregon.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
