Earlene Mae (King) Vernon
July 2, 1932 – August 25, 2018
Earlene Mae (King) Vernon, born July 2, 1932, in Perry, OK, left this life August 25, 2018, in Saint Louis, MO.
Earlene loved to travel and to cook, enjoyed planting flowers, and attending music concerts. She was always up for an adventure, and loved taking in an LA Dodger or STL Cardinal baseball game. She especially loved OSU homecoming and bowl games. Her dry sense of humor was endearing, and she was very proud of being a “King from Noble County.” Earlene will be remembered for her honesty and integrity.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Tera Lynn. She is survived by her daughter Lynda and son-in-law Neal, granddaughters Kelly and Allison, grandson Matthew, and great-grandsons Isaiah and Damian.
A memorial service celebrating Earlene’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at 10:00 AM at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Perry. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Sumner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please go out of your way to thank a teacher and a farmer.
