Madge Edith (Hester) McClellan

July 12, 1901 – November 3, 1993

 Madge McClellan, 92, died at 4:35 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1993, at her home at 1210 Fourteenth street.

Graveside rites are set for 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic cemetery. Rev. Lynn Scott, pastor of the First Christian church, will officiate. Arrangements are under direction of Brown Funeral home.

Mrs. McClellan was born at Apache, July 12, 1901, the daughter of Ruse and Anise Hester. She moved to Perry with her family as a young child and was a graduate of Perry high school. She and Joe McClellan were married on June 18,1919.

Her husband served at one time as president of the Exchange Bank & Trust Co. Mrs. McClellan was a charter member of the Perry Golf and Country club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Joe McClellan Jr., and daughter, Mary Thompson.

Among survivors are a daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen McClellan, Houston, Texas; four grandsons, Patrick McClellan, Houston, Tim McClellan, Stillwater, David Thompson, Mullers Sails, Mass., and Jim Thompson, Palmer, Mass.; and two granddaughters, Regan Burrows, Houston, and Nancy Thompson, Marblehead, Mass.
