Gordon McGill

– son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl McGill, 427 13th street. He was born in Perry 17 years ago.

Gordon has gone to Perry schools for 12 years. He has been a member of the high school band for three years and has received two letter awards in band.

After he graduates, he plans to work until enlistment in the air corps.

Gordon’s mother was a graduate of PHS and his father attended the high school for four years.

Gordon Vern McGill

July 31, 1925 – April 22, 1994

Gordon V. McGill, 68, Brandsville, MO, formerly of Perry, died Friday, April 22, 1994, in Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, MO.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Brown Funeral home in Perry. Speaker Kent Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Monday in the Rose chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funeral home in West Plains, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung association.

McGill was born July 31, 1925, at Perry, the son of Marion Carl and Blanche Mae (Canada) McGill. He received his formal education in the Perry school system.

He and Rita M. Parsons were married at Oklahoma City on Oct. 10,1969. McGill was a veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Navy. Before his retirement in 1981, he had been employed 36 years from Southwestern Bell Telephone company in Oklahoma City. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers of Oklahoma.

McGill was preceded in death by his parents Marion Carl McGill and Blanche Mae McGill Gallup; and one brother, Duane McGill.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three children, Dennis McGill, and Dana Parsons, both of Edmond; and Jack Parsons, Glendale, CA; two grandsons, Tyler and Zac; a sister and brother-in-law, Glenna and Marshall Davis, Albuquerque, NM; an aunt, Frances Finley, Mountain Grove, MO; a sister-in-law, Gladys McGill, Sapulpa; and several nieces and nephews.
