George Michael “Mickey” Speiser

December 17, 1922 – June 10, 1969

George Michael (Mickey) Speiser, 46, of Hobbs, N.M., formerly of Perry, died about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday of an apparent heart attack while working at Claude, N.M.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the First Christian church. Rev. Frank Winfry, pastor of the Woodland Christian church of Ponca City, will officiate at the funeral. Burial will be in Grace Hill cemetery under direction of the Parker funeral home.

Speiser was born Dec. 17, 1922 in Perry, and married Feb. 4, 1948, to the former Phyllis Tobin in Enid.

He was a 1942 graduate of Perry high school and served in the Navy during World war II.

Speiser had been employed in pipeline construction since leaving Perry in 1955 and had worked in Liberal, Kan., Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Hobbs, N.M., where he served as inspector of Mid-America Pipeline company of Tulsa.

Survivors include his wife and three sons, Thomas, Stephen, and James, and a daughter, Kimberly, all of the home; his mother, Mrs. Eva Speiser, Enid; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Ruth Washam, Ponca City; and Mrs. Nora Belle Dozier, Enid.
