Lula Blanche (Beyers)

October 14, 1889 – June 21, 1966

Services were at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Garrison chapel, Oklahoma City, for Mrs. Lula Beyers Younger, 77, of Oklahoma City and formerly of Perry, who died Tuesday.

Mrs. Younger was born October 14, 1889 in Beloit, Kansas, to George R. and Laura A. (Parks) Beyers. She lived in Perry during the early days of the community, graduating from Perry high school in 1908 with 22 other students. She attended Normal school and in June of 1910 was accorded a certificate to teach 1st grade. In September she was hired to teach the primary department at the Red Rock elementary school, but after arrangement of the teachers, she taught grammar and German in the high school.

On December 14, 1910, she and Alexander L. Younger were married in Oklahoma City. Mr. Younger was in the horse and mule business of Davis and Younger in Perry, but sold his business here and began business as Younger & Davidson in Oklahoma City. They lived in Oklahoma City.

Her husband, Alexander, preceded her in death in 1929. She is survived by a daughter and four sons.
