Verna Belle (Shappell) Smith

July 3, 1932 – December 21, 2003

Funeral services for Verna Belle Smith, age 71, of Crescent, OK, will be held at Smith Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2003 with Rev. Terry Martindale officiating. Burial will be at Summit View Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Guthrie.

Verna was born on July 3, 1932 in Marshall, OK to Marion and Mary Shappell. She died Sunday, December 21, 2003 in Crescent.

She is survived by her husband Bill of the home; one daughter, Debbie and husband, Carl Crane of Earlsboro, OK; three sisters, Rose Mary St. Clair and Evelyn Coe, both of Perry, and Delores Myers, Morrison; two grandsons, Patrick and Christopher Boles; one great granddaughter, Christina Boles; one sister-in-law, Hester and husband Bob Gooch of Guthrie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Billie Teresa Smith.
