– 17-year-old daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Harry Nelson, was born at Morrison on May 16, 1923, but has spent all 12 of her school years to date in Perry.

She has been especially active in girls’ physical education, and claims that sports of all kinds are her favorite pastimes.

Clarice plans to attend the Oklahoma A. and M. college after graduation here, with a view to majoring in physical education.

Clarice M. Tyler, 77, died Sunday, July 2, 2000 at Perry Memorial Hospital.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2000 at the First Christian Church in Perry. Rev. Lynn Scott will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Sisson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tyler was born May 16, 1923 in Morrison, the daughter of Harry and Fern C. (Edwards) Nelson. She graduated from Perry High School in 1941. She and Curtis Tyler were married January 22, 1950 in Enid.

Mrs. Tyler was employed at Maureen’s Boutique in Perry for over 20 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Business Women’s Guild of her church.

Memorials may be made to benefit the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation or the First Christian Church.

Survivors include three sisters: Evadna Nelson and Margaret Seeliger, both of Perry, and Ruby Collins, Oklahoma City; three nieces: Judy Reichardt and husband Alan, San Antonio, TX, Penny Green and husband Jeff, Ocean, NJ, and Georgeann Acker and husband Neil, Muskogee; two nephews: Keith Seeliger and wife Audrey, Tecumseh, OK, and John Holland and wife, Paula, Oklahoma City; 10 great nieces and great nephews; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Curtis, in 1962, two brothers-in-law and a nephew.
