Opal Lucile (Fitzhugh) Van Noy

July 11, 1912 – August 31, 1984

Opal Van Noy, 72, died Friday in a Reno, Nevada hospital.

A native of Dover, Tenn., she was born July 11, 1912, to Elza Earl and Lillie Belle (Carney) Fitzhugh. She graduated from Perry high school in 1930.

On June 23, 1935, she and Cordell Carlyle “Jack” Van Noy were married in Oklahoma.

She had lived in the Reno area for 35 years, coming from Baltimore, Md.

Surviving are her husband, Cordell of Sparks; son, Carlisle of Denver; daughter, Sharon Van Raden of Ben, Ore.; sister, Helen Jacobs of Kennewick, Wash; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Walton’s Sparks Funeral Home. A funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
