Violet Verniece (Dozier) Williams

Violet “Vi” Williams, 93, of Hallettsville, Texas, died Aug. 1, 2008.

She was born on Dec. 21, 1914 to Oscar L. & Audrey McElhannon Dozier in Foreman, Arkansas. She graduated from Perry high school in 1932 and attended Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater, OK.

She married Carl “Ace” Williams on April 23, 1935 in Pawnee, OK. The couple moved to Texas in 1939, and settled in Hallettsville in 1966. She was a member of several Bridge Clubs, and a parishioner the First United Methodist Church in Hallettsville.

Vi is survived by her son Carl J. William & wife Sandra of Manakin Sabot, VA, and grandson Zachary Williams.

Vi was preceded in death by her husband, Ace, on Aug. 4, 1994; daughter, Nancy Jo Williams; parents; a brother; and a sister.

The service will be at 10 am, Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at First United Methodist Church in Hallettsville, officiated by Rev. Lundy Hooten. Burial will be at the Hallettsville City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or donor’s choice.
