Perry Business Women girl of the month for February, 1978, is Connie Elaine Sullins. She was born May 1, 1960, in Perry and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Sullins, route one, Red Rock. She participated in band, 1970-78; was a member of the National Honor society, 1977-78; the Student Librarians association, 1976-78; Future Teachers of America, 1975-76; the high school jazz band, 1976-78; and the jazz combo, 1977-78. Miss Sullins was secretary of the Student Librarians association, 1977-78; assisted with music for “Bye Bye Birdie,” and was named outstanding jazz player March 4 at Dewey. She lists band as her favorite subject and sewing, reading, and playing musical instruments as her hobbies. Northern Oklahoma at Tonkawa is her college choice.
Connie Elaine (Sullins) Roberts
May 1, 1960 – November 28, 1999
Connie Elaine (Sullins) Roberts, 39, El Reno, a native of Perry, died at 4 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Parkview Hospital in El Reno, OK.
Mrs. Roberts was born May 1, 1960, in Perry, OK, the daughter of Wendell and Carol Sullins. She was a 1978 graduate of Perry High School where she was a member of the Perry High School Maroon Marching Band for eight years, and a member of the Jazz Band. She graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma College at Miami with an associates degree in computer science.
She and Les Roberts were married Sept. 9, 1988. She was a member of the El Reno Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband, Les of the home; one daughter, Sharlee, of the home; her parents, Wendell and Carol Sullins, Perry; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell and Jeannie Sullins, Oklahoma City, and Mike and Brenda Sullins, Perry; two nieces and one nephew, Amanda, Eric and Abigail; two stepsons and six step grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at the El Reno First Free Will Baptist Church in El Reno. Burial will be at 3:45 p.m. at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry.
